Equine Rehabilitation

We take a totally different approach to the generic ‘physio’. We specialise in rehabilitation of the horse, and understand how difficult this can be. We do not work in isolation, but will integrate within your team. This will include communicating with your vet, trainer, farrier (and any one else involved)

One of the other key differences, is we look at the root cause and nothing in isolation. This does mean, that we are not a 'quick fix' service, but will give you solutions to your horses issues, which is likely to be a structured rehab programme, designed for your horse.

We will work with any professional involved; including your current physiotherapist. As rehab specialists, we will work along side your treating physio, communicating with them throughout the process.

We recommend that rehab should be a minimum of 12 weeks. This ensures that the horse has time to heal and establish this improved pattern of movement.

All the online rehab courses are 12 weeks, but we can be involved with rehab consultations as often or as little as required. The Rehab pathway is a minimum of 12 weeks involvement.

Yes, rehabilitation can be reclaimed under the complementary therapy cover on your insurance policy, but is totally dependent on your policy. We are happy to support you with insurance claims. However, all payment needs to be made upfront, and then you claim it back through your insurance company.

All horses that start rehab must have veterinary diagnosis and referral for rehabilitation. This may either be following veterinary treatment or surgery, or as conservative treatment following a diagnosis. We work closely with your vets throughout the process to ensure that we achieve the best outcomes for you and your horse.

For rehab to be effective, we have to know that the horse does not have an underlying, undiagnosed injury. Rehabilitation with an injury that has not been diagnosed and treated, can lead to further issues. We want successful outcomes for your horse, so ensuring that they have been under vet care before coming to us, also ensures that they start rehabilitation at an appropriate time.

The Rehab Pathway:

- Unlimited support on the phone/ what's app

- Detailed initial assessment

- At least 1x visit per week (physio/ rehab coaching/ support)

- Liaison with your vet and team

- Bespoke rehab plan (including custom online rehab)

- All equipment provided

Rehab consultations:

- Liaison with your treating vet before & after the consultation

- Full assessment of your horses movement

- Review of execution of exercises

- Provision of rehab programme (if not completing an online rehab programme)

- Troubleshooting

The Rehab Pathway does not include other professional visits (saddler, farrier etc), but we will liaise with these professionals if it is required; and we usually do out of best practice for the optimal outcome for the horse. If a joint visit is required, it might be possible to include this within your package. We are not able to offer nutrition advice, or provide supplements and feeds, but we can direct you to reputable nutritional advisors.

No, we are able to work with whatever facilities you have available to you. You do not need a school, poles or any other fancy equipment, just somewhere relatively flat where your horse can work, a field or track is perfectly suitable for this. We are well versed in coming up with creative solutions to still achieve brilliant results!

We will provide equipment (if you are on The Rehab Pathway), or be able to signpost you to the correct equipment, however this is minimal.
